- Authors
Martonchik, Richard M.; Newman, Norman
- Abstract
A supplemental employee retirement plan can be a useful tool to respond to the increasingly restrictive rules applicable tax-qualified plans. However, if it is not properly designed and monitored, the plan can present major compliance problems. This article discusses the complex rules involved in the design, implementation, and administration of such plans. The types of benefits a company is seeking to protect are considered.
