- Abstract
The article provides information on the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) and the American Association for Budget and Program Analysis (AABPA) in the United States, compiled as of 1986. It also highlights the names of officers and directors of the AABPA, Activities of the ASPA and formation of the Section on Budgeting and Financial Management within the ASPA. ASPA is a nationwide, nonprofit education and professional organization, dedicated to improved management in the public service through exchange, development and dissemination of information about public administration. ASPA activities include publications, conferences, education, research, and various special services; all aimed at improved understanding and strengthened administration of the public service. Many of these activities are carried out through more than 90 chapters in major governmental and educational centers, and through ASPA functional sections and committees. ASPA has over 16,800 members, representative of all government levels, program responsibilities, and administrative interests.
