- Abstract
This article thematizes the writt en modality of language in Distance Education (DE). It has as object a refl ection about the prevalence of this modality of language in DE in lights of literacy theorizations, studies of anthropologic nature. The text counts with four sections of content that search to discuss the use of Information and Communication Technologies in education, the relation between the writt en modality in DE and the implications of the prevalence of this modality to professors, students and to the proper teaching system. It treats of a search for a refl ection that may develop a sensible cultural look, in lights of literacy studies, that viables to the people involved in this process of teaching to know and realize who are de subjects involved in this process, what are their practices and experiences with the writt en modality of language and how those practices and experiences can infl uence the process of learning of a student in DE.
