- Abstract
The authors discuss the possible functional role of the olfactory subsystems for exhalation and inhalation monitoring. Among the olfactory subsystems include the septal organ, the olfactory sensory neurons subsets, and the Grueneberg ganglion. Also mentioned that the timing of exhalation and inhalation plays an important role in the central olfactory information processing.
