- Abstract
The uMlalazi Dwarf Chameleon is a species found in three forest patches in South Africa that are threatened by human activities. However, a recent observation of an unidentified female chameleon suggests the presence of a previously unknown population in the Kraal Hill Forest and/or uMlalazi Estuary Forest. The text explores the impact of climate change on forest connectivity, specifically focusing on the Wahlberg's Bush Squeaker and the Kraal Hill/uMlalazi population of the chameleon. The discovery of this new population does not significantly change its conservation status, but further surveys may reveal more populations. The research was conducted with a permit from Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife.
