- Abstract
The article discusses a study which investigated the chemical retting of the Leafiran fiber derived from the leaves of a plant called Typha australis by decortications methods. The study determined some of the properties of the fiber including its tensile strength, chemical composition and thermal properties. Results of the study suggested that the fiber can be an ideal replacement for some widely used natural textile fibers.
