- Abstract
The article discusses the history of atmospheric science and attempts to control the weather during the Cold War at the Institut für Physik der Atmosphäre atmospheric science college in Bavaria, West Germany. Information is provided on the theory and practice of fog dissipation and preventing hail, the ideological aspects of weather control, and the geopolitics of the polar regions and oceans in the Cold War. Other topics of discussion include the influence of the U.S. on German weather research.
