Like New Like New: TKE team works with DIA-DEN to realize key, comprehensive escalator modernization in Denver, Colorado.
- Authors
Massey, Jeffrey A.
- Abstract
TKE Elevator recently completed the modernization of 16 escalators at Denver International Airport (DIA-DEN) in Colorado. The escalators, installed in 1992, were upgraded to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency due to their age and increasing passenger traffic. TKE collaborated with DIA-DEN and United Airlines to ensure a smooth installation process. This project is part of DIA-DEN's larger effort to upgrade its conveyance equipment, with TKE being awarded a third phase of modernization for additional units. The document also mentions a 28-year industry veteran who has worked in the elevator and escalator industry since the early 1990s, including successful stints at TKE, Lerch Bates, and KONE/Montgomery Elevator. Additionally, it briefly discusses the completion of the modernization process for eight escalators at an airport.
