- Title
Toxicity of carbon nanotubes -- Some recent studies.
- Authors
Srinivasan, C.
- Abstract
The article offers information on the study in toxicity of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Several groups have motivated to study the potential health risk of CNT exposure due to the superficial resemblance between CNTs and asbestos fibers. Lung is the target of asbestos fibers when people are exposed to it and inhalation of asbestos fiber is known to cause lung cancer, scarring of lungs and malignant mesothelioma. However, study shows that functionalized CNTs have no toxic effects.
