- Title
Call for UK industry to pioneer hydrogen use.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study, which outlines a £600m plan to decarbonise heat in Great Britain. It discusses gas network operator Cadent suggesting building three steam methane reformers (SMRs) in the Liverpool-Manchester region to produce hydrogen to be injected into the existing gas network, providing a 10 percent blend that would help local industry reduce its carbon footprint. It discusses the technical challenges, and the comparatively lower costs of building them in the region.
