- Authors
Wyld, David C.
- Abstract
The article provides an overview of a study on whether or not money can buy happiness. Researchers Timothy Judge of the University of Florida, Ronald Piccolo of Rollins College, Nathan Podsakoff of the University of Arizona, John Shaw of Jacksonville University, and Bruce Rich of California State University–San Marcos focused their study on the relationships between compensation, motivation, and job satisfaction. The complex relationship of pay and satisfaction is discussed. The study's meta-analysis of American, Australian, British, Indian, and Taiwanese employees' attitudes and pay levels is also discussed. The transitory nature of money as a motivator is mentioned.
