- Abstract
During last year's Academy of Management meeting in Atlanta, the public affairs forum addressed a management issue that is of urgent concern to the general public today--the withering of the traditional relationships between corporations and their employees. Three speakers presented their views on the topic: Louis Uchitelle, New York Times; J.T. Battenberg III, former Chairman and CEO of Delphi; and Thomas Kochan, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. To follow are their remarks. Denise Rousseau from Carnegie Mellon University and Rosemary Batt from Cornell University moderated the session. Later, they offer a review of the three presentations and put them into a larger context.
