The article provides information on lutrogale perspicilla, or otherwise known as smooth-coated otter. The lutrogale perspicillata prefers habitat with rocky banks because of the availability of den sites. They inhabit both inland and coastal wetlands. They are strong swimmers and diurnal, and they sometimes rest on bare sand and grassy areas along river banks.
