- Abstract
The article offers background information on the proposal of the Office of Communications (Ofcom) in Great Britain for a public service broadcasting (PSB) and considers the pros and cons of the PSP in connection to the public interest. In recent years, the stability and underlying justification for public service broadcasting have come under pressure from political, economic and technological factors. Although Ofcom was backing a continuing role for PSB in a digital era, it discovered that the traditional arrangement was breaking down.
