- Abstract
This article explains why telecommuting is becoming more feasible with advances in technology. Telecommuting offers a number of benefits that fall into three categories: individual or worker; organizational; and society. One of the most consistent benefits of telecommuting is the increased employee job satisfaction. It also reduces travel time and expenses. The telecommuter benefits from less office distraction. On the organizational level, telecommuting offers the benefit of increased productivity. It also reduces operating costs for employers. On the society level, telecommuting helps alleviate the number of vehicles on the road, consequently reducing pollution and oil consumption.
