Japanese investment for PA 66 airbag yarns.
- Abstract
This article reports that the global demand of nylon 66 yarn for airbags will expand from 70,000 tons in 2003 to 10,000 tons in 2005. The estimated production of the Japanese producers is for Toray Industries 7,500 tons per year and for Toyobo 6,500 tons per year. The Toyobo company plans to increase its capacity of nylon 66 yarn for airbags in Japan to 10,000 per year in 2005. At its Okazaki plant in Japan, the Toray Industries company increased its capacity to a total of 9,500 tons per year by expanding by 2,000 tons in September 2003.
