- Title
Optics: Ultrafast X-ray photography.
- Authors
Murnane, Margaret M.; Miao, Jianwei
- Abstract
The article offers information about stroboscopic photography which has profoundly improved the understanding of both nature and technology. It mentions that the technology is a super-fast lensless microscope that works by decoding the diffraction patterns of bright laser-like flashes of x-rays and affirms that new sources of light can generate coherent and ultrashot pulses of x-rays. It relates that the authors used a low-energy x-ray beam that has a photon energy of over 40 electronvolts that corresponds to a wavelength of 32 nanometers.
