- Abstract
The article reports on the Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico which would be closed if it will not be given financial support by 2011. It is very important in both scientific and popular cultures. It has been used in collecting pulsars and in the finale of the James Bond film "Goldeneye." It has seek help from various agencies including the Division of Astronomical Sciences of the U.S. National Science Foundation and the National Solar Observatory.
