- Authors
Lorr, Maurice; Knapp, Robert R.
- Abstract
The article determines the dimensions of value, attitude and behavior measured in the Personal Orientation Inventory (POI). The item responses of 300 subjects who completed the POI were intercorrelated and analyzed by the method of principal components. Of the 15 factors retained, 10 proved to be interpretable. These were hypothesized to represent Self Esteem, View of Performance, Self Acceptance, Acceptance of Aggression, Adherence to Moral Principles. One limitation of the study is that the factors identified account for only 33% of the total variance.
