- Abstract
The article presents a case study to assess the implication of sluices and dams on Huai River basin streamflow in China. Researchers used improved SWAT2000 modeling system and found that the water released from large reservoirs were blocked by sluices are river channels, while sluice operations resulted to increase in run-off volume during flood season and changing magnitude at non-flood season. They concluded that sluices played a vital role in regulating the streamflow in the river basin.
