- Abstract
Since 2019, the company Agris42 has been conducting a nationwide monitoring of weed infestation and herbicide resistance in Germany. Each year, the infestation situation with weeds was estimated on approximately 1,300 fields from 325 farms before harvest, and seeds from surviving weed plants were collected and tested for herbicide resistance. Between 2019 and 2022, a total of 6,514 field observations were conducted, with Alopecurus myosuroides being the most commonly occurring species. In the resistance tests, a reduced effectiveness of the tested post-emergence herbicides was observed in a high proportion of the samples. The monitoring provides opportunities to capture the increasingly complex weed situation and develop strategies for optimized weed control.
