- Abstract
Based on data of 18 cities in Henan over the period 2006-2014, this study examines the relationships between carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and urban green open spaces (GOP) growth, and uses Moran I to analyse the spatial correlation of multiple indexes. Results show that the total amount of carbon dioxide emissions will not continue to grow as the urban green open spaces. With the development of urbanisation, there is a growing trend of negative correlation between the growth rate of CO2 emissions and the growth rate of urban green open spaces (GOP). In this province, the importance of energy conservation and emission reduction arouses more and more attention to the construction of green open space. The study reveals that the development of economy and urbanisation will affect the CO2 emissions and urban green open spaces growth, and there will be some periodicity in the region.
