- Abstract
Cognitive Theories have proved that human thinking is embodied. We access reality through our senses and we cannot avoid it. We use metaphorical mapping of embodied senses to understand abstract concepts. That metaphor is everywhere has been demonstrated with several analysis of different verbal corpus but not with non verbal corpus. The paper argues that if primary metaphors are part of our cognitive unconscious, inherent to the human being, a consequence of the nature of the brain, then they must create visual metaphors too. A series of examples are given and discussed in order to prove this statement.
