- Abstract
People have always felt the need to share their experiences or feelings with the people around them. They expressed this through various literary genres such as poetry and novels. In this study, the reflection of the perception of the Corona virus, which has been affecting our lives since 2020, in the works of the Japanese short poem senryū will be discussed. Senryū is a type of Japanese short poem that contains humor and satire, written in 17 syllables, 5-7-5. By compiling the Senryū works belonging to the years 2020 and 2021, when the corona took place in our lives, the use of words, their frequencies and the relations between the words will be analyzed with the text-mining method. As a result of the analysis, it is aimed to reveal the perception about the Corona virus in the poems. Although the corona virus is an epidemic that killed many people and left permanent damage to those who were caught, it is discussed in poems called senryū in a humorous way. In the works, it is seen that various subjects such as the obligation to use masks, remote working to prevent the spread of the virus, teleworking, online meeting, mask-distance-hygiene rules, and staying at home are covered.
