- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the in vivo pharmacodynamic of carbapenem antibiotics against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The study involves the use of cilastatin for longer half-life by inhibition of murine dehydrogenase-I with appropriate dosing regimens for adequate amount of T>MIC. The results based on pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) analysis confirms that human clinical efficacies can be predicted by in vivo pharmacodynamic.
