- Abstract
The aim of the study was to present gastronomic tourism in Poland, including its facts and myths. The possibilities of using their various forms by tourist guides in the region were shown. The offer of gastronomic tourism in Poland is wide and varied (regional and international cuisine). The Polish catering industry is characterized by traditional hospitality, high quality of provided services in most catering establishments and the use of local food products. However, the myth is the availability of information about it for potential recipients. In particular, there are no offers in a foreign language. This is probably related to insufficient funds for the promotion of gastronomic tourism among tourists. Local guides should join the promotional activities of their region, by promoting not only monuments and landscape, but also regional cuisines. The training for guides and preparation of the tour package offers in this area seem indispensable.
