- Abstract
The Ig Nobel Prize in 2023 was awarded in the fields of chemistry and geology. The British-Polish geologist Jan Zalasiewicz received the prize for his research, in which he licked stones to better examine moist surfaces. The winners in the field of mechanical engineering were researchers from Rice University in Houston, who used reanimated spiders as gripping tools. They called their research "necrobotics". Additionally, an Ig Nobel Prize for public health was awarded to researchers from South Korea and the United States who developed a toilet that analyzes excrements.
