ALTERAÇÕES HEMOGASOMÉTRICAS EM CÃES E GATOS-ESTUDO RETROSPECTIVO.

- Abstract
A hemogasometria consiste na avaliação dos gases sanguíneos, arterial e venoso, e é utilizada no diagnóstico de distúrbios ácido-básicos e monitoramento de doenças metabólicas e respiratórias. O gás carbônico (CO2) é o principal ácido do sangue, enquanto que o bicarbonato (HCO3 -) é a principal base. A deficiência de HCO3 - ou o excesso de CO2 ocasionam a acidose, já a deficiência de ácido ou excesso de base originam a alcalose. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar e identificar as alterações ácido-básicas em cães e gatos oriundos da rotina de um hospital veterinário, no período de 5 meses. Para isso, foram colhidos entre 0,5 e 1ml de sangue venoso utilizando seringa com anticoagulante heparina lítica e, imediatamente, processadas em analisador (i-STAT Abbott®). Foram analisadas 65 amostras (46 cães e 19 gatos). A acidose foi presente em 47,8% (22/46) dos cães e 47,3% (9/19) dos gatos. Destes animais, o distúrbio metabólico estava presente em 81,8% (18/22) dos cães e 88,8% (8/9) dos gatos. Enquanto que os distúrbios respiratórios foram evidenciados em 18,1% (4/22) dos cães e 55,5% (5/9) dos gatos. Contudo, 21,0% (4/19) dos gatos apresentavam uma acidose do tipo mista. A alcalose foi encontrada em 6,5% (3/46) dos cães, sendo 33,3% (1/3) de origem metabólica, e 66,6% (2/3) de origem respiratória. Já nos gatos, a única alcalose encontrada foi de origem metabólica, em 5,2% (1/19). A acidose metabólica é o transtorno ácido-básico mais frequente em medicina veterinária e tem como causa principal os distúrbios renais, gerando perda de bicarbonato (HCO3 -) e menor excreção de íons hidrogênio. Assim, o estudo hemogasométrico em cães e gatos tem grande importância, especialmente para o diagnóstico de acidoses metabólicas, possibilitando o tratamento rápido e melhor prognóstico do paciente.
