- Abstract
The article proposes a three-winding superconducting transformer with the auxiliary winding only on the lower-voltage side. The current-limiting qualities of the superconducting power transformer would be useful for suppressing the short-circuit capacity of contemporary power systems. It discusses the operating principle of the superconducting transformer. The iron core used for the transformer is a two-leg type oriented silicon steel core with circular cross section.
