- Abstract
Due to their structural technology the green facades positively influence the sustainability of the buildings as well as saving energy, as they decrease the warming effect and mitigate solar radiation. This research paper is based on the role of vegetation as a passive method of saving energy in the Pontifical Universidad Bolivarian University's administrative building in Monteréa. According to the results these types of facades are more effective than those that use different materials. They work in a similar way to ventilated facades, and it is for this reason that they should be considered as appropriate tools to change the thermal interior atmosphere in the building that is the object of study, given their location in an area with a hot and humid climate.
