This paper describes the first documented record of the Broad-shelled River Turtle Chelodina expansa Gray, 1857 in the Castlereagh River catchment, New South Wales, filling a gap in the known distribution of the species. A nesting event is described, with the clutch size of 23 eggs towards the upper end of the range recorded for this species.
