- Abstract
The article analyzes the factors which affect the demand of residential energy in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries including Australia, Great Britain, and the U.S. It discusses the significant role of income, prices, and households' preferences for goods and services in the demand for residential energy which include household electricity consumption, water heating, and space heating in OECD-member countries. It also mentions the wide range of policy instruments being employed in OECD countries in addressing energy policy objectives including energy taxes, thermal efficiency standards, and energy labels.
