- Authors

- Abstract
In the last few years severe floods occurred in Romania causing economic losses and deaths. This is why the management authorities in Romania are concerned about finding methods to improve flood management and consequently reduce flood risk. This paper presents an instrument that could be included in a decision support system for flood control at a river basin scale. It comprises a conceptual data model as well as a geodatabase for flood management. This geodatabase is applied and used in the frame of an important European project regarding flood risk assessment for the whole Danube river - Danube Floodrisk.
