- Abstract
The article reports on the rediscovery of rare butterflies Shijimia moorei and Papilio elephenor from Ripu-Chirang Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam, India. It provides a detailed description of the yellow-crested spangle Papilio elephenor and Shijimia moorei including their morphology, habitat, and behaviour. The similarities and dissimilarities of both species are also presented. It predicts that the rediscovery of these butterflies may refocus to wildlife conservation in the region.
