- Abstract
The article focuses on a community-wide effort to eradicate the disposal of hypodermic needles and syringes used by private individuals in DeSoto County, Florida. The effort was led by the DeSoto County Public Health Unit, in conjunction with the local hospital in June 1989. The proposal was presented approved by the Arcadia City administrator, Arcadia City Council, DeSoto County administrator, DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners, city and county fire chiefs, city of Arcadia marshall, and DeSoto County sheriff.
