- Abstract
The article provides information various issues and topics related to the textile industry in the U.S. Metallic threads were used in ancient times in royal and ceremonial robes, which are made by a twisting gold, silver of copper wire around a cotton, linen, silk or rayon core. Retting is a fermentation process, carried out by immersing the fiber in water for up to two weeks, which separates the flax fiber from the stalk. Hackling is also a kind of coarse combing process to separate long and short fibers.
