- Abstract
The article describes a device designed by doctor Boris Malyugin in order to enhance phacoemulsification surgery in complicated small-pupil cases. Accordingly, it is a square-shaped temporary implant with four circular loops that hold the iris at equidistant points. According to the author, the device, which is being manufactured by MicroSurgical Technology, is among the most effective methods for increasing the size of rigid small pupils during phaco.
