- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the effect of estrogen in the hippocampus of chronic cerebral ischemia in rat models. The study uses immunohistochemical staining, one-way analysis of variance and light microscopy to determine the role of estrogen in the pathogenesis of chronic cerebral ischemia. Results show that estrogen improved the microvasculature of hippocampal neurons in rats with chronic cerebral ischemia.
