- Abstract
Joel Correia's book, "Disrupting the Patrón: Indigenous Land Rights and the Fight for Environmental Justice in Paraguay's Chaco," explores the environmental degradation and social injustices experienced by Indigenous communities in the Paraguayan Chaco. The book argues that land dispossession should be considered an environmental harm and offers a place-based account of environmental justice rooted in the struggles of the Enxet and Sanapaná peoples. Correia's transdisciplinary approach and engagement with Indigenous perspectives make this book a valuable resource for understanding the complexities of environmental justice and settler colonialism in Latin America.
