- Abstract
The article examines the idea of friendship between students and their teachers, considering the possible sexual connection between them which may lead in a relationship characterised by erotic desire rather than platonic friendship. The issue on eroticisation of teacher-student relationships is emphasized. The two distinctly complex examples of inspiring yet ambiguous mentor figures in British fiction and their relationships is cited.
