The article analyzes the sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis, a rare and fatal complication seen in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis in a patient. A case study of a 47-year-old patient is presented, managed with bowel rest, hyperalimentation, and steroids. The article states the major cause of death is related to complications of surgery or bowel obstruction.
