- Abstract
This document is a reply from the authors of a study on the intracorporeal anastomosis technique in laparoscopic right colectomy. The authors acknowledge the limitations of their post hoc analysis but believe that their research provides interesting insights into the advantages and potential disadvantages of the technique. They explain that the decision to use intracorporeal anastomosis was made by two surgeons in two centers, resulting in a smaller sample size compared to extracorporeal anastomosis. The authors also discuss the wider resection margins and higher node retrievals associated with intracorporeal anastomosis. They mention the use of preoperative endoscopic tattooing to locate small tumors. The authors declare no conflicts of interest and state that no ethics approval was required for their study.
