- Abstract
The article presents a study which compares the chemical characteristics of Mahonia nervosa to Mahonia aquifolium and assesses the regeneration potential in different harvesting methods of Oregon-grape plants in Forest Grove, Oregon. The study involves three M. nervosa and three M. aquifolium whose foliage was removed and air dried in unlit room with room temperature. The results reveal the lack of significant difference in the yield of berberine in the two plant species in any plant section.
