Toshiba, JSW set up Rs 10 250 million joint venture for power equipment.
- Abstract
The article reports on the joint venture (JV) to be established by Japanese electronics and electrical maker Toshiba Corp. and JSW Group in India. The JV company, to be created by June 2008, will manufacture and sell steam turbines and generators for thermal power plants. Generators and medium-to-large steam turbines will have capacities ranging between 500 mega watts (MW) to 1,000 MW. It is noted that the local power generation equipment industry in the country is expected to post higher demands in the next ten years.
