- Abstract
Generation gap is a broad issue observed between all generations having various reasons which badly eff ect relationships. Diff erences in thinking, att itude, lifestyle and principles increasing gap among generations. Generation gap destroys the mutual understanding. Changing scenario of society have increased the distance among the generations. The rapid growth and availability of more resources have made the new generation so busy that it is not possible for them to spend time with their elder. So, the present study is planned with aim to fi nd out the gap between generations. Present study has been conducted on 60 respondents of diff erent age groups from Jhansi city to assess the association between generation gap with age and sex. A self-structured questionnaire schedule was used withchi-square test to analyse the association. Results revealed that majority of respondents were of 18-40 years age group and male. Average generation gap was seen between 41-60 years age group (25%) and above 60 years (20%). No association was seen between level of generation gap and age (χ²=.264).Majority of respondents whether male or female (36.66%) were have average generation gap followed by males having low generation gap (26.66%). No association was seen between level of generation gap and sex (χ²=.496).
