- Abstract
The Mer des hystoires is a universal chronicle printed in Paris in 1488 (1st tome) and 1489 (2nd tome) by Pierre Le Rouge for the publisher Vincent Commin. In spite of being known as one of the most beautiful French incunabula for its lavish illustrations, this book still remains neglected. Our contribution is focussed on the comparison between the woodcuts of the Mdh and the Rudimentum noviciorum, printed in Lübeck in 14751.
