- Abstract
The article offers brief information on the history and efforts for homeownership promotion particularly for low and middle income group by the federal government of the U.S. It discusses the different types of common traditional homeownership models including housing cooperatives, single-family ownership, and mutual housing associations in the U.S. It analyzes the limited equity cooperative model as an alternative to traditional homeownership under the National Housing Act of 1934.
