The Emergence of Oedipus's Blessing: Evoking Wolfgang Iser.
- Authors
Budick, Sanford
- Abstract
The article examines the "The Emergence of Oedipus's Blessing," written by Wolfgang Iser. The recursive relations and emergences traced by Iser is said to constitute an interactive experience of something he called the imaginary, says the author. Such interpretation suggest that Iser's theoretical work was moving from a theory of the individual act of reading to a theory of cultural and artistic transformation that is necessarily a shared activity.
