- Abstract
The article examines the association between susceptible gene polymorphisms and age, sex and body mass index in gallstone disease. The study showed that the serum total cholesterol and both low- and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly lower in subjects with gallstones. Based on the results, the researchers concluded that age, sex and body mass index were not associated with carriers of ABCG5 604Q or ABCG8 D19H polymorphisms.
