- Abstract
The article presents a study that determines the effectiveness of quantum spin Hall effect (QSHE) in predicting the topological non-trivial surfaces. It explores the method of the study in which it identifies the spin-polarized nature of the edge states of a QSHE system, as well as the potential difference between spin-up and spin-down electrons. The study indicates the usefulness of QSHE in discovering topological insulators and establishing spin-polarized character of quantum spin Hall edge.
